Things to do in Hot Springs, Arkansas for a Weekend
1. Central Avenue (Downtown)
Central Avenue is the main street in downtown Hot Springs. It is full of restaurants, boutiques, novelty shops, museums, theatres, and more! The famous Arlington Hotel is the central point of this area and a historic city landmark. Take in the history and uniqueness of Hot Springs by carving out time to really explore this area!
2. Hot Springs Water
While in Hot Springs you have to stop and taste water from the hot springs! There are various locations downtown where you can fill up a jug or water bottle of fresh spring water. You can also visit the natural hot spring in the national park area located right across the street from the Arlington Hotel.

3. Oaklawn
Whether you want to take in live horse racing, visit the casino, go to the spa, or partake in some great dining, Oaklawn is a fun place to be! Oaklawn is newly expanded so this is a one-stop shop for endless entertainment! If you choose to do live horse racing, you must get a corned beef sandwich while you are there – the best.
4. Bathhouses
Bathhouse row is not only beautiful to walk by, but you can also choose to have a spa experience. There are two bathhouses that are open for bathing, The Buckstaff Bathhouse and the Quapaw Bathhouse. They also have spas at The Arlington Hotel. Going to a bathhouse is quintessential Hot Springs experience!
5. Hot Springs National Park
Hot Springs National Park encompasses hiking trails, campgrounds, hot springs, various places to get spring water, and more! A portion of the park is in the downtown area so you can plan to see as much or as little of the park depending on how much nature you want to experience.
6. West Mountain
West Mountain is not far from downtown, and you can drive up the mountain for beautiful views of the city. There are also many sitting areas if you would like to have a picnic and enjoy being outside!
7. The Grand Promenade
The Grand Promenade is a beautiful walking area behind bathhouse row. It is the perfect place for a relaxing walk with views of Downtown Hot Springs. Grab a coffee (or favorite drink of your choice!) and take a stroll. During the holidays, there are beautiful Christmas lights downtown for you to take in as well.
