Want to know what office essentials you might need for your new office? These items are critical to ensure you are able to function at your best while working!
It’s so exciting when you are designing your own workspace! If you are like me, you are trying to figure out everything you need to make sure you are the most comfortable in your space. In this post, I am going to discuss the top office essentials to help you maximize your productivity.
After making note of these office essentials you will probably have some new ideas of items you want to include in your office space!
Office Essentials
1. Humidifier
Humidifiers add moisture to the air which is great for keeping your sinuses clear but also is good for your skin and hair! You can also purchase humidifiers where you can add essential oils to diffuse. All of these things can go along way to making your workspace more comfortable and enjoyable. Here is my favorite desktop humidifier.
2. Air Purifier
If you work in a place where you often have office visitors, it may be helpful to have an air purifier to ward off office germs. There are many small desktop ones that may do the trick!
3. Lamp
I like to use lamps instead of overhead lights in my workspaces. I think it makes the environment cozier and more relaxed.
4. A Large Clock
A large clock may be helpful if you often run meetings out of your office. Using a large clock instead of the one on your computer helps you to be able to glance over and easily monitor time without getting too distracted from the conversation you are having. I absolutely love this stylish, large desktop clock.
5. Computer of Your Choice
Your computer is likely the centerpiece of your office space. Whichever computer you choose, I recommend you ensure you have all the specifications that will enable your computer to run smoothly and as fast as you need it to go.
6. Ring Light
Given that the nature of work now may still require many virtual meetings, having a good ring light is helpful in making sure you have a crisp picture of yourself on screen. Ring lights also provide different light colors in different intensities to ensure you are able to find the most flattering light for you! I love this ring light since it does not take up much space on your desk.

7. Cleaning Supplies
It is helpful to always have hand sanitizer, paper towels, clorox wipes, and lysol spray in your desk drawer. This ensures you are able to thoroughly clean your space when needed and protect yourself from germs that may find their way in your office.
8. Personal Care Items
I also like to keep items such as chapstick, basic makeup items, eyeglass cleaner, lotion, etc. in my desk drawer. Having these items allows me to freshen up when needed.
9. Space Heater
A space heater is critical for any office space where you don’t control the temperature. Nothing worse than being cold and trying to focus. A small space heater will allow you to work more comfortably if the building temperature gets too cold for your liking. I love this cute desk space heater!
10. An Electric Tea Kettle
Having an electric tea kettle on your desk is awesome because that means you can always make a warm beverage of your choosing (i.e., tea, instant coffee, hot chocolate), or even make a bowl of ramen or oatmeal! This electric tea kettle is perfect for desks!
11. Cups/Mugs
I like to have paper cups in my office so that I can an make a quick cup of coffee or tea using my electric kettle. These also come in handy if your office kitchen is out of cups.
12. Utensils
I also always have plastic utensils to use to eat lunch with. I typically save these from take-out orders and just bring them to my office; that way I can grab them quickly and always have them on hand in case the office kitchen runs out.
13. Decor that Makes You Happy
Decorate your space the way you would like! This could include adding some greenery, a rug, wall art, or any degrees you would like on display.
14. Snacks and Water
It’s always important to have your favorite snacks on hand when you get hungry during a work period. Having your favorites on hand will also keep you from running out to buy something should you not want to. Finally, I always have water in one of my favorite reusable water bottles with me. Having a fun water bottle you love will encourage you to stay hydrated. I also always have a water bottle with a straw as I think I drink more water when using a straw.
