First, I like to ask people what they want their life to look like during and at the end of their training to get an idea about what path they may take to get to where they want to be. When considering potential graduate school programs. It is very important to look at the funding the program offers. I recommend that you only consider fully funded programs, meaning that your tuition covered and you receive a monthly stipend. Even in a fully funded program, grad school can be taxing financially as the stipend may not cover your personal cost of living. There will also be other expenses associated with your training like with traveling to conferences and purchasing extra resources for your studies. Therefore, a fully funded program is incredibly helpful.

2. Program caliber

It is very important that you choose an accredited program. Accreditation shows that the program you attend is recognized and approved by the field. This formal recognition is helpful when you are applying for clinical internship and completing other requirements for licensure.
