Hi everyone! My name is Joya and I am a new Clinical Psychologist at a large, urban hospital in the Southeast. I just finished my formal training and am about to start the life of an Early Career faculty member at an academic medical center. I love my job and have received help from so many mentors over the years. I also love to mentor. So, I wanted to put all of my tips and tricks about what I have learned about academia and how to become a Psychologist all in one place—I thought a blog would be the perfect way to do that! 

Aside from work, I love spending time with my amazing husband, hanging out with friends and family, eating, shopping, and all things fashion and beauty. I also enjoy pop culture and chit chat about current events. Can’t wait to share a slice of my personal and professional life here with you!
